Honey Orange Glazed Iowa Chops
Ingredients:
- 2- Iowa pork chops
GLAZE:
- 2 Tbl. Olive oil
- ½ Medium onion
- 1 Jalapeno pepper
- 2 Cloves garlic
- ½ Cup Orange juice concentrate
- 3 Tbl Honey
- ¼ tsp. Kosher salt
- ¼ tsp. Ground black pepper
- ¼ tsp. Cayenne pepper
- ½ tsp. Orange zest
Seasoning for pork chops:
- Olive oil
- Kosher salt
- Dried minced garlic
- Ground black pepper
Prep for glaze:
Finely mince: onion, de-seeded jalapeno and garlic. Sauté onion, pepper and garlic in olive oil in a heavy skillet over medium heat for 3-4 minutes. Add orange juice concentrate, honey, salt, black pepper, and orange zest to skillet and cook over medium heat until thickened and reduced.
Cooking pork chops: Coat pork chops with olive oil and season with salt pepper and garlic on both sides. Grill over medium heat 5 min. Flip chops and cook 5 more minutes. Flip again and coat with glaze cook 2-3 minutes. Flip again, coat with glaze and check internal temperature. Continue to flip and coat with glaze until internal temperature is 145 degrees. Pull chops, let rest several minutes and serve.
